UC joins national mental health initiative for college students

The University of Cincinnati has joined a national program aimed at strengthening mental health support for college students, becoming an official JED Campus as part of the university’s long-standing commitment to supporting student well-being. The JED Campus program, developed by the nonprofit Jed Foundation, helps colleges and universities evaluate and enhance their mental health, substance misuse, and suicide prevention efforts. The initiative guides schools through a four-year strategic process to build comprehensive systems of care.

Hoffman Scholars begin a year of exploration and engagement

The second year of the Hoffman Honors Scholars program (HHS) is in full swing. This fall, University of Cincinnati faculty and staff welcomed 22 new students as the second cohort of the Hoffman Honors Scholars program (HHS). Students from UC’s College of Arts and Sciences, College-Conservatory of Music and the Carl H. Lindner College of Business are provided tuition, room and board and a plethora of community tools and skill-training.

CCM Media Production wins 10 'student Emmys' from NATAS Ohio...

Media Production students from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music received 20 nominations in the 2025 Student Production Awards from the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). The nominations span 12 categories from non-fiction and fiction to arts/entertainment and sports.

The fire and wit of Jane Austen's classic 1813 romance shines through in this vibrant new adaptation by Joseph Hanreddy and J. R. Sullivan. A Clarinet, a cause, and a calling

Poiesis Quartet wins Grand Prize at Banff International String...

Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff, Alberta, Canada announced the Poiesis Quartet as the grand prize winner of the 15th triennial Banff International String Quartet Competition (BISQC). The CCM graduate student ensemble consists of artist diploma students Sarah Ying Ma (she/they) on violin, Max Ball (he/they) on violin, Jasper de Boor (they/them) on viola and Drew Dansby (he/him) on cello.

CCM doctoral student appointed as May Festival Conducting Fellow

The Cincinnati May Festival has announced the appointment of Max Trombley, a first-year DMA student in CCM’s renowned choral conducting program, as its Conducting Fellow for the 2025-26 season. Trombley, who will serve as the assistant conductor for the May Festival Chorus this year, recently completed his master's degree at Western Michigan University.

CCM graduate student ensemble the Poiesis Quartet is the only quartet in the USA to compete in the 2025 Banff International String Quartet Competition (BISQC). At CCM, the Poiesis Quartet studies chamber music with the Ariel Quartet. Members are AD student Sarah Ying Ma, violin; AD student Max Ball, violin; AD student Jasper de Boor; and AD student Drew Dansby, cello.
