Customize Your Co-op
As a student in a required co-op program, you have the flexibility to tailor your educational journey to fit your personal and academic interests. Discover a variety of options that enhance your co-op experience, including study abroad, international experiences, international co-ops, and Experiential Exploration Programs (EEP).
Study Abroad
Join over 1,700 University of Cincinnati students who venture to more than 50 countries annually. These programs, lasting from one week to a year, are designed for students from all majors and backgrounds. Expand your horizons and earn academic credit while making the world your classroom.
International Experience
Participate in International Experience Programs during the fall, spring, or summer semesters. Open to students from any major, certain locations may offer better employment prospects in specific fields. If you're in a mandatory co-op program, you can substitute an International Experience internship for one co-op rotation.
Experiential Exploration Program (EEP)
The EEP provides flexible, mentored experiences that align with your professional goals and interests. This alternative to traditional co-ops involves 300 to 350 hours of independent work and includes four types of programs:
Emerging Professional EEP
For first and second co-op semester students, this program focuses on developing professional and technical skills through project-based work.
Professional Practice EEP
Ideal for students with at least two co-op semesters completed, this option allows for independent exploration beyond the traditional co-op model.
Entrepreneurship EEP
Designed for students with a product or idea to launch, this program is perfect for those who have participated in an accelerator program or entrepreneurship course.
Career Related Travel EEP
Travel for one academic semester with an approved itinerary that aligns with your discipline or career interests. The travel duration should match the UC co-op term.
