Many Media Production alumni go on to work in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles. In LA, students can make connections with media professionals and begin their careers in the city of dreams.

CCM Summer in LA builds upon the Media Production program’s focus on experiential learning, providing students with the hands-on skills and digital portfolio necessary to transition successfully into the professional world. This summer, two Media Production seniors are interning in LA: Lillian Smith and Aidan Britton-Heitz.
Lillian Smith is interning at Brad Hammer Productions, an award-winning boutique production company founded by Brad Hammer, a 2000 CCM Media Production alumnus. The production company specializes in commercials, music videos, VIP event videos, social media videos, documentaries and viral videos. Brad Hammer Productions has notably worked with Cher, Diana Ross, Kesha, Doechii, Janelle Monae, Diplo, Grace Jones, Paula Abdul, Adam Lambert, Trixie Mattel, Erasure, Noah Cyrus, David Archuleta, Alyssa Edwards, Jimbo, Manila Luzon, Sasha Colby, Detox, Alaska, Kylie Love, Michelle Visage, Nina West and many more. Smith works in a range of areas with Brad Hammer Productions this summer, including post-production, production, camera operation, marketing and social media.
Aidan Britton-Heitz is interning at FunMeter, a full-service production company specializing in premium storytelling across scripted and non-fiction for television, feature film and podcast. Britton-Heitz works in all areas at FunMeter, including postproduction, documentary production, camera operation, podcasting, writing and design and social media. FunMeter was founded in 2018 by Emmy-nominated filmmakers James Lee Hernandez and Brian Lazarte, a 2004 CCM Media Production alumnus. Hernandez and Lazarte directed, wrote and executive produced the five-time Emmy-nominated HBO documentary series and podcast McMillion$ (Sundance 2020) and the Apple TV+ documentary series and podcast, The Big Conn (SXSW 2022), which premiered in May 2022. FunMeter has an upcoming three-part documentary series, LOLLA: The Story of Lollapalooza (Sundance 2024) premiering Spring 2024 on Paramount+.
Aidan Britton-Heitz is a senior CCM Media Production student with a Marketing minor and specializes in cinematography and post-production. Several film festivals have featured his work including "No Running in the Halls," which won Fan Favorite, and "Restless," nominated for Best Cinematography. Britton-Heitz is an aspiring director of photography and has already shot and edited many outstanding student films using CCM Media Production's Sony FX-6 and Red Komodo cameras using both spherical and anamorphic lenses. Due to his extensive background with advanced cameras and lenses, Britton-Heitz served as Producer/Director, DP and Editor for several outstanding senior films produced in Media Production's Capstone Film class, which are currently being accepted in film festivals and up for student production competitions.
Lillian Smith is a director and producer that graduated from CCM with a BFA in Media Production in April 2025 with honors and a Presidential Scholarship. Smith has worked on countless projects, both student and professional. She served as President of UC Video Production Club for two years and the President of CCM Tribunal for one year. Smith served as director for the CCM Film Lab production "Primary Findings" under the supervision of Professor Drew Thomas. The film is currently being submitted to film festivals and in student production competitions. She has been nominated for two NATAS Student Production Awards for her work. Smith also has work nominated in the Loveland Shorts Film Fest. Learn more about her work at https://ltgproductions.com/.
